Fluorocarbon line
A spool of fluorocarbon line is part of the basic equipment in the tackle box! Particularly abrasion-resistant and almost invisible underwater, we need approx. 50 cm of fluorocarbon line for mounting the Texas rig.
Offset hook
Due to the use of the Texas rig in the cover, a suitable offset hook is required to mount the rubber bait. The hidden hook point in the bait means that the rig can even be fished in heavy cover.
Bullet Lock
The bullet lock is a type of rubber stopper that can be used to protect the knot. Simply fitted between the bead and the hook, it ensures that the bead does not damage the knot and thus protects against line breakage.
Bullet weights
Depending on the size of the bait and the desired sink rate, so-called bullet weights made of tungsten are used on the Texas rig. Bullet weights are designed in such a way that they do not get stuck in the cover and have good flight characteristics.

Rubber bait
Basically, all types of rubber bait can be fished on the Texas rig. If the rig is used in open water, for example, shads (rubber bait with a paddle tail) are often used. When fishing in heavy cover, however, creature baits and rubber crayfish are the lures of choice.
Assembly instructions for the Texas rig
Step 1:
Remove approx. 50 to 80 cm of fluorocarbon line from the spool and thread the bullet weight onto the line.
Step 2:
Thread the glass bead or the sound bead onto the side of the leader where the bullet weight has a concave indentation.
Step 3:
Thread the Bullet Lock onto the fluorocarbon line with the thicker side towards the bead.
Step 4:
Tie the leader and offset hook with a knot and pull the rubber bait onto the hook.
